C.A.S.T. for Kids – Folsom Lake presented by Pacific Seafood
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation (C.A.S.T. = Catch A Special Thrill) is a public charity that was formed in 1991 to join volunteers who love to fish with children who have special needs and disadvantages for a day of fishing in the outdoors.

Our Folsom Lake event is in Memory of Logan Schwab, an incredible young man whose passion for fishing will live on with the children at this event.
2025 event planning and preparations have begun. To reach more children a 2-day event is being held on:
Saturday, April 26, 2025 – Shore Fishing
Sunday, April 27, 2025 – Boat Fishing
C.A.S.T. for Kids events are designed to provide children with disabilities, ages 6 – 16, the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience through the sport of fishing. Take to the water with C.A.S.T. for unforgettable mornings of fishing and boating!
Event Itinerary
Our C.A.S.T. for Kids events include lots of fun and celebration! You can expect 2-3 hours of fishing, a delicious lunch and an awards celebration where your child will receive a personalized plaque. The events will start at 8:00 am and will end at 1:00 pm. Please note a parent or guardian must be present with your child for the entirety of the event. If you are volunteering for this event you should expect about 5-6 hours of time at event, arriving before participants and staying after to help wrap things up. This is a day of fishing the children, families and volunteers will never forget!
